“Very pleased with MCM’s performance from development through to delivery. The feedback received and attitude witnessed on site was excellent.”

In October 2020, VBA JV awarded MCM the design and construct contract to repair and improve the stormwater network along New South Head Road, in Rose Bay, New South Wales.

Client brief

The existing stormwater outfall pipe became fully blocked by sand from storms in 2014–2016 and would cause flooding on New South Head Road, one of Sydney’s eastern suburbs’ main arterial roads.

What we delivered:

The project increased the drainage capacity in the area by:

  • replacing a 225mm ø pipe across the road with a 450mm ø pipe

  • increasing capacity of three surface inlets with SA2 gully pits

  • grinding out debris and relining the underground network to improve flow

  • installing an outfall pipe extension to withstand storm events (100-year design life)
