Project overview
MCM will be undertaking refurbishment works to the timber boardwalk and jetty along the Glebe Foreshore Walk adjacent to the Glebe Rowing Club. These works will include the removal and replacement of deteriorated timber decking, structural strengthening of the existing boardwalk substructure, and localised widening of the boardwalk to improve functionality and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
As part of the works, a new cyclist-compliant balustrade will be installed along sections of the boardwalk, and a small structural extension will be constructed between the boardwalk and jetty to improve manoeuvrability for rowing boats accessing the Glebe Rowing Club.
The boardwalk will be closed during construction and temporary work zones and site compounds will be established within nearby parking bays to safely facilitate the works. These areas will be clearly delineated and managed to ensure safe separation between construction activities and the public.
A pedestrian detour will be implemented along the Glebe Foreshore Walk, directing pedestrians to travel via Ferry Road, Taylor Street and Bridge Road before rejoining the foreshore path.
We will work to minimise disruption to the community during this time, however there may be minor construction noise during working hours.
The safety of the community, pedestrians, and our workers is our highest priority. Thank you for your patience while we complete these important improvement works.
